Thursday high school sports roundup:

Volleyball RRC 3, HL-O 1 HERON LAKE -- Red Rock Central snuck by conference opponent Heron Lake-Okabena in four tightly contested games.

Game scores were 24-26, 25-20, 27-25, and 25-20.

Haley Simonson was a perfect 16-for-16 with four aces for the Falcons. Simonson added 19 set assists. Nicole Schroepfer was 9-for-9 with an ace. Schroepfer had 17 digs and 11 kills as well. Karli Arkell and Kierra Highby had 10 kills each for W-WG, and Kennedi Janssen had 19 set assists.

Ellie Bang had a match high 32 set assists for the Wildcats.  Samantha Freking went 19-for-19 on her serves with an outstanding eight aces. Freking had 20 digs, and Grace Kilian had 14 digs. Anna Volk was 17-for-17 serving with an ace, and 14 digs. Hailey Liepold and Meakin Bang had 13 kills each.

MLA 3, Edgerton 0 EDGERTON -- Mountain Lake Area emerged victorious in its Red Rock conference tilt against Edgerton.

Game scores were 25-13, 25-12, and 25-19.

Paeton Smit went 8-for-10 serving for the Flying Dutchmen, two of which were aces. Smit added 11 digs and eight kills.

Courtney Fey had 17 set assists, seven kills, and 1 block, while Jastin Pena had 13 digs.

Margo Stoesz led the Wolverines in kills.

W-WG 3, Ellsworth 0 WESTBROOK -- Brittany Erickson had 13 kills for Westbrook-Walnut Grove as it earned a conference victory over Ellsworth.

Game scores were 25-12, 25-21, and 25-17.

Emma Wahl was perfecton all 17 of her serves two of which went for aces. Gracie Wahl also went a perfect 16-for-16, and had 17 digs for the Chargers.

Kelsey DeSmith had eight digs and six kills. Kelly Berglund and Halle Steen had 5 kills each. Camryn Bunting had 3 blocks.

Kallie Chapa had 6 kills and Ashlyn Meester 5 for Ellsworth. Morgan Dreesen had 12 set assists while Liz Chapa had 9 digs. Meester had 5 digs. Kallie Chapa and Grace Mulder both had a service ace.

 

Adrian 3, Fulda 0 FULDA -- Marissa Lenhoff had 11 kills for Adrian as it beat Fulda in three.

Game scores were 25-11, 25-21, and 25-9.

Mayssa Tweet and Shawna Rogers had all their serves go in for the Dragons. Tweet had 14 digs as well. KAsie Tweet led the team in set assists with 29.

Emily Madison was 8-for-8 serving with an ace for the Raiders. Evany Luna had six digs, McKenzie Evers had five kills and seven digs. Chrissy Hermeling had 7 set assists.

MCC 3, H-BC 0 SLAYTON -- Alyssa Groves had 11 kills for Murray County Central as it powered past Hills-Beaver Creek.

Game scores were 25-15, 25-17, and 25-13.

Danielle Kuball was a perfect 9-for-9 with one ace. Laney Brown and Courtney Schmitz both had 12 digs for the Rebels. Elise Rohrer had 5 digs, and Montana Beckmann had 9 digs.

H-LP 3, H-M-S 2

HARTLEY, Iowa -- Harris-Lake Park went five sets to defeat Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn. Scores were 25-23, 22-25, 25-13, 21-25, 15-9.

For H-LP, Taylor Meyer had 22 kills and Kenzie Heikens had 10. Heikens and Bri Ihnen had two blocks apiece. Mady Brevik had 22 set assists and Tessa Gunderson had 14 digs.
