Thursday volleyball roundup: Windom Area beats PA; Arrows' Haupert gets 1,000th dig


Thursday night high school volleyball roundup:

Windom Area 3, Pipestone Area 1

WINDOM -- Pipestone Area senior April Haupert recorded her 1,000th dig Thursday night, but that didn’t lead to an Arrows victory as Big South Conference rival Windom Area won in four games.

Scores were 25-17, 23-25, 25-20, 25-21.


Katelyn Nichols was 14-for-14 serving with two aces for the Eagles, and she also had 25 kills and four solo blocks. Teammate Autumn Hauge was 19-for-20 on the line with two aces, and 21 kills and two solo blocks.

Halle Jackson had 19 set assists and Reegan Elder had 11. Ericka Appel and Shelby Erickson had 13 digs apiece.

HLO/F 3, Edgerton 0

EDGERTON -- Heron Lake Okabena/Fulda improves to 14-13 on the season with its three-set victory over Edgerton.

Game scores were 25-17, 25-15, 25-12.

Hailey Liepold had 18 kills for the Coyotes and two blocks. Meakin Bang had 11 kills and Ellyson Bang had 32 set assists. Grace Kilian had 14 digs, Chrissy Hermeling had 12 digs, and Marissa Becker went 18-of-20 with an ace for HLO/F.


JCC 3, Fairmont 0

JACKSON -- Jackson County Central improves to 13-8 with its three-game victory over Big South Conference opponent Fairmont.

Game scores were 25-11, 25-13, 25-11.

Sadie Voss had 13 kills for the Huskies, went 6-of-7 serving with two aces, and had a block. Alaina Wolff had nine kills and went 18-of-19 serving with seven aces and seven digs. Georgianna Wenzel had five kills, and a block, Rachel Anderson had seven kills, and Jordan Rogotzke had 19 set assists. Grace Brinkman went 13-of-13 with an ace and 11 set assists. Cali Cranston went 17-of-17 with three aces and 6 digs.

RRC 3, RCW 0

LAMBERTON -- Karli Arkell had 11 kills for Red Rock Central in its three game victory over Renville County West.

Arkell had three aces serving to go with 13 points for the Falcons, while Bianca Weis two aces to go with eight points.


Nicole Schroepfer had 19 digs and 14 set assists for RRC, Weis had 18, Kaylee Derickson had 16 digs, Nora Hemmingsen had 11 set assists.

H-BC 3, Luverne 2

LUVERNE -- Hills-Beaver Creek got the best of Luverne in five games.

Game scores were 25-23, 24-26, 19-25, 25-20, and 15-11.

Joslyn Birger went 19-of-20 serving for the Patriots and also had seven digs. Kailey Rozeboom had 23 set assists, and Kenadie Fick had eight digs. Whitney Elbers had 17 kills for H-BC and three blocks, and Taryn Rauk had 10 kills and two blocks.

MLA/C 3, Ellsworth 1

ELLSWORTH -- Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey was able to take Ellsworth down in four games. Game scores were 25-16, 25-11, 23-25, 25-22.

Ashlyn Meester went 6-of-7 with two aces for Ellsworth. Meester had 6 kills, one block, and three digs. Morgan Dreesen went 17-of-18 with 14 set assists, and Kallie Chapa went 12-of-12 with two aces, three kills, and six digs.

SF Christian 3, SWC 0

SIOUX FALLS -- Defending South Dakota state Class A champion Sioux Falls Christian had its way with Southwest Christian, winning 25-13, 25-12, 25-16.

Jazzy Prins had seven kills, Maren Nerem had three blocks, and Makenzie Snyder had 10 digs and 11 set assists for Southwest Christian.
