ST. JAMES -- Several fine performances were turned in by the Worthington Trojans track and field team Tuesday in a quadrangular meet in St. James, featuring the Saints, the Trojans, Fairmont and Mountain Lake Area.
On the girls’ side, Trojans Taylor Eggers won the 200-meter dash in 25.71.
Emma Thuringer was second in the 400 meters (1:01.52). The 4x100-meter relay team of Nallele Pena Gonzalez, Kara Thuringer, Presley Eggers and Taylor Eggers was second (56.32). The 4x200-meter relay team of Saleen Thepmontry, Kara Thuringer, Emma Thuringer and Taylor Eggers was second (1:54.98). The 4x400-meter relay team of Emma Thuringer, Adamari Rangel, Anne Cham and Nyiel Mayola was second (4:46.75). The 4x800-meter relay squad of Sena Uli, Maranda Thier, Mayola and Rosario Dominguez-Lopez was second (11:43.30).
For the boys, Trojan Obang Ojulu won the 300-meter hurdles in 40.81, Nathan Boneschans won the high jump in 5-4, Bryce Olsen won the discus throw in 140-0, and the 4x800-meter relay team of Adam Koller, Christian Lietz, Andrew Huber and Stewart Merrigan prevailed in 8:36.02.

Lietz was second in the 3200-meter run (10:47.19). Ojulu was second in the 110-meter hurdles (15.47). Pedro Manzanarez was second in the high jump (5-2). The Trojans’ 4x100-meter relay team of Cesar Barralaga, Robert Street, Ethan Pavelko and Alex Luong was second (48.77). The 4x200-meter relay team of Pavelko, Street, Boneschans and Luong was second (1:41.71). The 4x400-meter team of Emmett Bicket, Merrigan, Nathan Schuck and Ojulu was second (3:45.00).
Fairmont won the team girls championship with 150 points, followed by Worthington with 34, St. James Area with 31 and Mountain Lake Area 8.
The Fairmont boys earned 105.50 points, outpacing Worthington with 66.50, St. James Area 31 and Mountain Lake Area 21.
