WASECA -- Adam Koller of Worthington toured the boys 3,200-meter course in a first-place time of 9:57.62 on Saturday, eclipsing second place Eli Salisbury of Marshall, who covered the track in 10:02.22 in the big school Big South Conference track and field meet in Waseca.

The Trojans’ Christian Lietz finished third in the event, in 10:09.77.

The Fairmont boys and the Waseca girls won championships, but there were several good performances by Worthington athletes.

On the girls’ side, Worthington’s Taylor Eggers was second in the 200-meter dash (27.04) and teammate Bailey Newman was third in the same event (27.33). Eggers also got a fourth in the 100-meter dash in 13.49.

On the boys’ side, Robert Street was third in the 100-meter dash (11.69) and captured another third for the long jump (19-4). Sean Souksavath was second in the triple jump (40-7) and Lietz was third in the 1,600-meter run (4:33.94).

Emmett Bicket was second in the 110-meter hurdles (16.81) and tied for third in the 300-meter hurdles (43.83). Bryce Olsen was third in the shot put (44-9.5) and second in the discus (135-0.5).
