JACKSON -- Senior forward Brock Bruns scored 23 points and teammate Terbuto Ochothow contributed 16 points and six assists as the Worthington Trojans defeated Jackson County Central 87-36 Friday night in a Big South boys basketball game.
Joe Boever and Jiekgoy Weil had 10 points apiece as the Trojans improved to 3-3 on the season with an impressive overall performance.
“I was happy with our effort. We played very good team defense,” said Worthington coach Clint Meyer. “We kept the pressure on and played our style. We never let up.”
The Trojans applied full-court pressure defense and earned a 24-point halftime lead. Worthington, which has dropped three games by a total of eight points this season, cruised to the victory.
“Our guys responded well,” Meyer said. “We got a lot of kids in the game. It was a good game for us.”

Senior guard Gavin Jacobsen scored 12 points for Jackson County Central (0-7).
Worthington is back at the Trojan gymnasium Monday night to take on the Windom Area Eagles.
