Trojan girls finish fifth, boys place sixth at Marshall

MARSHALL --The Worthington golf team was finally able to get some nice weather Saturday, but couldn't overtake tough competition.

On the boys' side, Worthington finished with a 402 to place sixth, while the girls finished with a 429, good enough to fifth.

Marshall won the boys' competition with a 315, while Tony Krogen fired a 1-under 71 for medalist honors.

Ryan Radloff led the Trojans with a 90, while Brady Barrie fired a 96.

Scott Simpson had a 107, while Evan Almberg and Joe Christiansen each had a 109. Ethan Petersen finished with a 111.

On the girls' side, Mankato West finished with a 349 as a team, while New Ulm's Sam Bergmann's 79 earned her medalist honors.

Kendall Spartz led the Trojans with a 102, while Meghan Westendorf fired a 103.

Megan Meier finished with a 111, while Jen Scholtes ended her round with a 113, and Alison Jaycox and Leigh VanHove each fired a 116.

Worthington will be at home today when the Trojans host Marshall.
