JACKSON -- Worthington High School gymnasts Hali Bullerman, Gracia Elias and Mekyla Nystrom seem to be among the top three in virtually every 2021 meet they compete in. The only question is which order they will be in.
On Thursday in Jackson, the Trojans scored 141.3 points to Jackson County Central’s 130.875 in a Big South Conference dual. The win occurred just a few days after WHS appeared as No. 1 in the state Class A rankings.
Bullerman, a freshman, won three individual events, taking the vault with a 9.3 score and the uneven parallel bars with an 8.725, and tying Elias for first on the balance beam with an 8.975. Nystrom tied with teammate Abby Bristow for first on the floor exercise with a 9.2.
In the all-around competition, Bullerman scored 36.075 points. Elias was second with 35.675 and Nystrom was third with 35.3.
