Trojan wrestlers split in St. Peter

Oscar Galvez, Tanner Hennings and Cole Hennings earned two falls for the Worthington Trojans high school wrestling team Tuesday, and the team split its two matches.

ST. PETER -- Oscar Galvez, Tanner Hennings and Cole Hennings earned two falls for the Worthington Trojans high school wrestling team Tuesday, and the team split its two matches.

Worthington defeated Waseca 39-33. It lost to St. Peter 36-27.

Galvez, at 113 pounds, pinned Waseca’s Elijah Biehn in 29 seconds, and he pinned St. Peter’s Charlie Born in 5:55.

Tanner Hennings earned his falls at 195 pounds, dispatching Waseca’s River Schmidt in 2:00 and St. Peter’s Oziel Hildago in 59 seconds.

Cole Hennings, at heavyweight, pinned Janaro Delgado of Waseca in 4:49. And at 220, he pinned St. Peter’s Kemper Eli in 1:20.

Other on-mat winners for WHS against Waseca were Damon Schutz, 3-2 at 145 pounds, and Evan Neuberger, a fall in 30 seconds at 170.

Other wins against St. Peter included Ethan Meyer, 7-1 at 120; and Schultz, a fall in 5:00 at 145.
