PRINSBURG -- The Trojans boys' soccer team put on a dominate performance Thursday night in their 9-0 win over Central Minnesato Christian in Prinsburg.
"I think we have continued to play well after the Southwest Minnesota Chrisitan game," Trojans coach Smitty Ektnitphong said. "Our game plan was to put pressure on them and we were able to apply that pressure consistently through out the whole game."
Worthington scored three goals in the first half, while outshooting CMC 10-1.
"It was nice to see us limit them to no chances on goal," Ektnitphong said. "And keeping them to so few shots is a really good thing too."
The Trojans scored their first goal of the game with 19:33 remaining in the first. Victor Meza picked up the goal with an assist from Mu Lar Taw.

The second goal came off of the foot of Jesus Ordaz at 8:26 and was unassisted. The last goal of the half was scored by Josh Kleve at 5: 38, also unassisted.
"We have struggled the last few games," Ektnitphong said. "We started to turn it around in the SWC game and we finally broke through against CMC."
Not only did the Trojans score six more goals in the second half, but they were also able to shut down CMC, allowing them no shots on goal.
"The last time we played them it was a convincing win," Ektnitphong said. "The second time, they know how we play and we know how they play, but they were not able to handle our pressure."
Andrew Johnson scored with 34 minutes left in the second, with an assist from Randy Lopez. Meza picked up his second goal of the game seven minutes later with an assist from Lopez and then Lopez got his first goal at 24:35 on a penalty kick.
"We were able to utilize all our players and get kids nice minutes who haven't been playing a lot in the first few games," Ektnitphong said. "It is nice to get them in for some live games instead of just practice."
The last three goals were scored by Lopez, Tar and Meza (his third) in a nine minute span to put the game away for good.
"It is a big victory for us, but we feel like we have earned it," Ektnitphong said. "We had a tough three game road trip in four days, but the team showed great team character in not letting things bother them."

The Trojans are on the road again against Fairmont Monday but then they come home for four straight games starting on Tuesday.
"We still have some things to clean up as a team," Ektnitphong said. "Our tempo has picked up, but I would still like to see us finish more plays like we did tonight moving forward."
