Trojans compete at JCC volleyball Invite

The Worthington High School varsity volleyball team lost 22-15, 16-25 to Rochester John Marshall, lost 19-25, 25-21, 9-15 to Jackson County Central, and won 26-24, 25-15 against Westbrook-Walnut Grove Saturday in pool play at the JCC Invitational.

JACKSON -- The Worthington High School varsity volleyball team lost 22-15, 16-25 to Rochester John Marshall, lost 19-25, 25-21, 9-15 to Jackson County Central, and won 26-24, 25-15 against Westbrook-Walnut Grove Saturday in pool play at the JCC Invitational.

Then in the Silver Bracket, the Trojans lost 17-25, 22-25 to Rochester John Marshall and lost 18-25, 17-25 to Luverne.

Tarren Spartz had 39 spike kills and Ellie Weg 23 for Worthington. Brooklyn Scheitel-Taylor was 34-for-39 serving with 29 points and three aces. Addison Gerber was 38-for-45 with 21 points and three aces.

Gerber had 88 set assists and Weg had 24 digs. Madison Beckmann had eight solo blocks.

Worthington hosts Marshall at the WHS gym on Tuesday.
