WORTHINGTON -- It might not be hockey season yet, but two Worthington Trojan hockey players are being honored for their exceptional play last season.
Trojan senior goalie Rylan Scholtes and sophomore left winger Alex Kremer were chosen by the Minnesota Hockey Hub and Breakdown staff to join the likes of Benilde-St. Margaret's Grant Besse and Duluth East's Meirs Moore as featured players in the 2012-13 High School Hockey guidebook.
"I didn't know what it was at first," Kremer said. "I thought it was something other kids would get too. Then I did a little research and found out that not everyone gets asked to be featured. I'm really proud of getting this opportunity."
As part of being chosen to be featured in the guidebook, Scholtes and Kremer were invited to travel to the Twin Cities for a photo shoot as well as a Q & A session with the Minnesota Hockey Hub and Breakdown staff on Sunday. The players photo and answers to the questions will go onto their profile page along with statistics from last season and a short scouting report.
"I think getting interviewed and doing the photo shoot will be one of the best parts about the weekend," Scholtes, a third year starter for the Trojans, said. "Hanging around the Twins Cities for the weekend and getting to meet new people will be pretty fun too."

Despite the Trojans subpar season a year ago, Scholtes and Kremer were still able to draw the attention of the people at Minnesota Hockey Hub. The teams 5-17-1 record does not give enough credit to any of the player, especially Schultes and Kremer.
"We never had the best record," Scholtes said. "But that forces you to keep getting better. The pace never slows down even if you are losing, so you can't help but get better even with all the loses we had."
Kremer started his freshman season on the Bantam team before being called up by the varsity coach early in the year. He was the second leading scorer on the team with 29 points, but led the team in goals (16) as well as power play goals (6).
"I was pretty iffy about being called up," Kremer said. "I wasn't sure if I would fit in or if I would be able to help out the team at all. But I ended up having a pretty successful season."
