Trojans seeded sixth in Section 2AAA girls basketball

Despite their 13-4 record, the Worthington Trojans are seeded sixth in the upcoming Section 2AAA girls basketball tournament.

Despite their 13-4 record, the Worthington Trojans are seeded sixth in the upcoming Section 2AAA girls basketball tournament.

The Trojans will travel to play third-seeded Mankato West on Thursday in the quarterfinal round. The game will be in Mankato at 7 p.m.

Marshall is the top seed of the tournament, followed by Waconia, Mankato West, Mankato East, Hutchinson, Worthington, St. Peter and New Ulm.

The Section 3A girls basketball tournament has also been seeded. Minneota is the No. 1 seed in the north, and Southwest Christian is the No. 1 seed in the south. In first-round south action on Tuesday (7 p.m. starts), Southwest Christian hosts Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda (8 in the south), Edgerton (4) hosts Westbrook-Walnut Grove (5), Red Rock Central (3) hosts Adrian/Ellsworth (6) and Hills-Beaver Creek (2) hosts Murray County Central (7).
