MOUNTAIN LAKE -- Scoring nine runs in the third inning, the Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey high school softball team held on to beat Murray County Central on Tuesday, 14-10.

Brooke Naas was the winning pitcher, going the full seven innings and striking out seven. Teammate Jaci Tollefson had two hits.

Red Rock Conference

The second day of the three-day Red Rock Conference took place Tuesday with the boys at Westbrook and the girls at Fulda.

Thomas Dysthe of Hills-Beaver Creek and Sawyer Drent of Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda tied for the top boys score, with 83.

Adrian/Ellsworth and HL-O/F are tied for first place after the second day. Second day team scores were: HL-O/F 355, H-BC 368, A/E 376, Westbrook-Walnut Grove 398, Murray County Central 404, Southwest Christian/Edgerton 410, Red Rock Central 428 and Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey 452.

Adrian/Ellsworth girls Taya Elias and Josi Altman had the best Tuesday scores, 90 and 93, respectively. Brielle Vis of Southwest Christian/Edgerton carded a 94.

Adrian/Ellsworth leads the girls field after two events. Tuesday's scores were: A/E 391, HL-O/F 407, W-WG 433, H-BC 458, MCC 477 and RRC 496.
