WORTHINGTON -- The Worthington Trojans gymnastics team outscored Martin County Area 141.125 to 124.1 in Worthington Tuesday night as Hali Bullerman and Mekyla Nystrom took most of the top honors.

But it wasn’t a perfect night, said head coach Joni Reitmeier.

“I was pleased with some performances, but I’m a little disappointed on some other performances,” she said. “Like on floor. We’re a really good floor team, but we just weren’t ourselves. We need to clean that up. And we had too many falls on the balance beam.”

Notwithstanding, Bullerman won the vault, beam and floor competitions en route to a first-place 36.3 score in the all-around. Nystrom won the uneven parallel bars event while placing second in vault and tying for second on floor, and totaling a second-best 35.5 in the all-around.

Bullerman’s vault score was 9.375, she scored 8.8 on beam and 9.225 on floor. She was second on bars with 8.9. Nystrom had an 8.925 on bars, a 9.325 on vault and an 8.85 on floor. She scored 8.4 on beam to finish behind teammates Ivy Jenson and Olivia Barber (both with 8.65) in that event.
