Van Dyk shoots medalist round of 45 to pace Cardinal girls at RRC quad (golf wrap-up)

SANBORN -- The Wabasso boys and Luverne girls captured the team titles Thursday at the Red Rock Central quadrangular golf meet at Farmers Golf Club.

Luverne's Krista Van Dyk shot a 45 to capture medalist honors. Jessica Dorhout and Missy Olson followed with rounds of 50 apiece, while Kaia Nowatzki completed the team score with a round of 50.

The Falcons were paced by the low rounds of 50 by Sarah DeCock and Caitlyn DeCock. Alysse Quade shot 53 and Allison Kircher completed the team score with a round of 54.

The Rabbits were led by Abby Rohlik's 54. Taylor Doubler followed with a round of 55, while Kate Maertens and Sandra Brau shot 66 and 70, respectively.

The Rabbit boys totaled 167 on the day, while Luverne was second with 176, followed by RRC with 188 and Southwest Christian with 196.

Wabasso's Derek Berg was the boys' medalist, turning in a round of 39. Drew Jenniges followed with a 41, while Justin Eichten and Steven Rohlik shot 43 and 44, respectively.

Skyler Hoiland and Cody Hemme paced the Luverne boys with rounds of 42 apiece. Ben Nath turned in a score of 44, while Daniel Hup completed the team score with a round of 48.

Matt Fox shot a low round of 43 for the Falcons. Chris Miller shot 46, while Jordan Smith and Blake Walker shot 49 and 50, respectively.

The SWC Eagles were led by Dustin Oberloh's round of 45. Philip Feikema followed with a 47, and Kyle DeBoer and Bryce Schelhaas shot 50 and 54, respectively.

On the girls' side, Luverne totaled 197 to place first. RRC was second with 207, and Wabasso shot 245 as a team for third place.

Girls Adrian quad

ADRIAN -- The Fulda Raiders totaled 207 as a team to win the Adrian quad golf meet Thursday afternoon.

Host Adrian placed second with 225, while Murray County Central was third with 230. The Southwest Christian Eagles had just two golfers and didn't complete a team score.

The Raiders' Amanda Wilkening shot a 48 to capture medalist honors. Teammate Krissy Weiskus followed with a round of 49, while Liz Kieseilcki and Kristen Paigel posted round of 54 and 56, respectively.

The Dragons were led by Brittany Loosbrock with a low round of 49. Kelsey Altman shot a 57, while Carmen Wieneke finished with a 59, and Brianna McCarthy posted a round of 60.

Tracy Chapman and Nicole Rohloff turned in the low rounds for the Rebels, shooting 49 apiece. Michelle Carlson and Suzie Buesing scored 57 and 67, respectively.

Emily Vreeman and Jenny Vander Veen shot rounds of 49 and 53, respectively, for the SWC Eagles.

Adrian will play SSC at Lakefield Monday.

JCC 186, PA 203

PIPESTONE -- Jackson County Central had four players within three strokes of each other, as the Huskies defeated Pipestone Area in Southwest Conference action.

Emily Marker topped JCC with a medalist score of 45. Kaylee Benson (46), Briel Hendrickson (47) and Rachel Hanson (48) rounded out the scoring for the Huskies.

Kayla Nelson led the Arrows with a 46, while Katherine Newhouse and Bailey Walters each had a 51. Megan Sommers shot a 55.

T-M-B at W-WG

WESTBROOK -- Alexis Quade shot a 50, leading the Westbrook-Walnut Grove Chargers to a team score of 211 against Tracy-Milroy-Balaton.

Vickie Lau charted T-M-B's only score with a round of 52.

Also contributing for W-WG (3-0) were Danielle Osland (53), Amanda Deprez (54) and Ellie Vondracek (54).

W-WG hosts Fulda today.

Boys SSC 169, H-BC 202

BEAVER CREEK -- Brady Hall shot a medalist round of 40 to pace the Quasars (4-0) past the Patriots Thursday in a Red Rock Conference golf tilt.

Logan Glaser and Jeremy Luebben followed Hall with rounds of 42 apiece, while Andrew Rossow completed the team score with a 45.

Caleb Ellingson shot a 44 to lead H-BC. Andrew Scholten shot a 48, while Austin Rauk and Caleb Schroer turned in rounds of 51 and 59, respectively.

JCC 160, PA 178

PIPESTONE -- Scott Benson fired a medalist round of 35 to spark the Jackson County Central Huskies to a Southwest Conference victory over Pipestone Area.

Evan Sieler shot a 38, Pat Garvin carded a 41, and Tyler Asa finished with a 46 to help the Huskies earn the victory.

Tate VanRoekel paced the Arrows with a round of 42. Aaron Koslowski and Steven Genzler each carded a 45, while John Lanholz had a 46.

W-WG 160, T-M-B 181

WESTBROOK -- Derek Eichner shot a medalist round of 35, and the Westbrook-Walnut Grove Chargers defeated Tracy-Milroy-Balaton.

Austin Quade shot a 41, and both Jared Lindaman and Taylor Lindaman each carded a 42 for the Chargers (2-0), who play Southwest Christian at Adrian today.

Tyler Christiansen paced T-M-B with a 42. Ryan Kaup (44), David Nilius (46) and Austin Butman (49) finished the scoring for the Panthers.
