MARSHALL -- Logan Huisman pitched an outstanding game in the opener and the Post 3958 bats came to life in the second game as Worthington’s VFW baseball team swept Marshall Thursday, 2-1 and 8-2.
Huisman pitched eight innings in the first game, allowing four hits and one unearned run. He walked one and struck out nine.
Worthington scored the winning run in the top of the eighth as Austin Svalland led off with a single, Turner Rogers followed with a single and Tyler Linder stroked an RBI double.

In the second game Linder went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and two RBIs. Eric Heidebrink had a pair of doubles. Logan Huisman had two doubles and four stolen bases. And Nate Russell had two hits and scored three runs.
Brayden Donkersloot pitched five innings and was credited with the win.
