NEW ULM -- In a tight match, the New Ulm Eagles beat the Worthington Trojans high school volleyball team Thursday night in four sets, 25-20, 20-25, 25-23, 25-23.
Tarren Spartz was 15-for-17 serving with seven points for WHS, and she had 11 spike kills. Kamryn Spartz was 10-for-12 with three points and an ace, Brooklyn Scheitel-Taylor was 10-for-11 with four points and an ace, and Addison Gerber was 18-for-20 with nine points and an ace.
Ellie Weg led Trojan hitters with 13 kills, and Madison Beckmann had 10.
Weg and Olivia Hayenga had four blocks. Scheitel-Taylor had 12 digs.
The Section 2AAA tournament, of which Worthington (15-14) is a part of, will have its seeding meeting on Friday.
