WASECA -- The Worthington Trojans’ first girls tennis match of the regular season resulted in a 7-0 setback to host Waseca on Tuesday.
The Trojans played some competitive matches, but the Bluejays were able to win every match.
Taylor Pfeifer defeated Worthington’s Kessey Aljets 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. In the other singles matches, Cece Huttemier beat Ivy Jenson 6-0, 7-5, Emily Farley beat Madison Johnson 6-3, 6-3, and Sarah Robbins upended Marah Darling 6-3, 6-4.
Waseca’s Morgan Bruhn and Tanika Johnson dispatched the Trojans’ Cynthia Souksavath and Maggie Putnam 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 singles. Also, Nicola Dejager and Hannah Potter beat Taya Oberloh and Kya Nickel 6-0, 6-2. Grace Lapides and Ava Storjohann beat Neveah Schrieber and Cindy Hernandez 6-0, 6-3.
