MWest hires new baseball coach
WORTHINGTON -- Minnesota West Community and Technical College has announced that Zachary Bakko has been hired to be the new Bluejays baseball coach. Bakko has an Associate of Arts degree from Rochester Community College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a Masters of Leadership degree from Augsburg University.
Bakko played baseball at Rochester Community College and Augsburg. He provides services for baseball hitting lessons and has been head coach for the Northfield Youth Baseball Association. He has currently been the graduate assistant baseball coach at Augsburg.
“I’m very excited to have Zach as our baseball coach and that he played at both the two-year and four-year college levels,” said MW men’s athletic director Bob Purcell. “He understands the current methods of baseball training and should be a great recruiter. I think he will be great for players in their academics and with helping them get to the next level.”
