WORTHINGTON -- Yadira Barragan bombed an inside-the-park home run in the fourth inning, and Worthington's 14 & Under softball team erupted for six runs in the fifth in an 11-5 win on Monday against Fairmont.
Brianna Mullaney (2-for-3) scored Barragan (3-for-3) on a base hit in the first frame, and Kara Honius cracked a two-run double in the second to give Worthington (2-0) a 3-0 lead.
Fairmont scratched across a run in the top of the fourth, but Barragan answered with her shot that also plated Emily Timmerman.
Worthington then put Fairmont away with its six-run sixth.
Rachel Kazemba was the winning pitcher and gave up just one hit in six innings. She fanned eight while walking eight more.
