AITKIN, Minn. -- A 56-year-old man died over the weekend following a gunshot wound while deer hunting in Aitkin County in north-central Minnesota.. The Aitkin County Sheriff's Office reported the man was hunting with family on family-owned land about 6 miles northeast of McGrath. The 911 calls were received by the sheriff's office at 12:59 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17..
BURNSVILLE, Minn. -- A newly elected member of the Minnesota House has announced that he is going to work on the ban of conversion therapy for gay people. State Rep.-elect Hunter Cantrell said it would make Minnesota the 15th state to institute the ban. Cantrell, who will represent the Twin Cities suburbs of Savage and Burnsville, said he will be the only openly gay person in the House starting in January.
WOONSOCKET, S.D. — Tuesday marked the five-year anniversary of the disappearance of a central South Dakota woman, and South Dakota law enforcement leaders say they are continuing to work the case. Rachel Cyriacks, age 30 at the time of her disappearance, went missing Nov. 13, 2013. A news release from South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley Tuesday noted the anniversary, and stated that tips and assistance in the case are still being sought.
BRAINERD, Minn. -- Brainerd International Raceway owner Jed Copham died Sunday, Nov. 11, as a result of a swimming accident off the west coast of Florida. He was 46. Copham was swimming from his parents’ boat Sunday afternoon near Punta Rassa, just south of Fort Myers, when he went missing. Search and rescue teams temporarily suspended their efforts to find Copham Sunday night after he went overboard, and found his body Monday morning.
ST.CLOUD, Minn. -- Two teenagers were critically injured, and four others were also hurt, in an apparent underage alcohol-related crash near this east-central Minnesota town late Saturday night, Nov. 10. The accident occurred about 11:20 p.m. when a pickup driven by Zachary Klaphake, 17, of Avon, went off a rural road near St Anthony and hit a large tree head-on with five other teenagers inside, according to Stearns County Sheriff Don Gudmundson.
RAYMOND, Minn. – A 31-year-old man died Friday morning, Nov. 9, at a worksite southwest of Willmar in central Minnesota. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family. According to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, a call of an unresponsive male was received around 11:46 a.m. The man had been working for a construction company installing tile in a field.

His party won the governorship, two U.S. Senate seats, six of eight seats in the U.S. House, all state constitutional offices and took back the state House.
WILLMAR, Minn. – Kandiyohi County Attorney Shane Baker said he intends to file charges Thursday morning in the homicide of David Medellin Jr. of Willmar. Two suspects are in custody and being held on suspicion of second-degree murder and second-degree murder – liability for crimes of another.
MOORHEAD, Minn. — An autopsy has been ordered for the victim of a fatal pedestrian-train incident that happened in Moorhead on Monday, Nov. 5. A person was hit by a train about 4:28 p.m. on tracks near the intersection of 14th Street and Main Avenue. The train stopped after the incident and traffic in downtown Moorhead was affected for several hours.
MITCHELL, S.D. -- A 23-year-old Mitchell man has been arrested, authorities say, for intentionally causing a vehicle crash, hitting a woman in the face, leaving the scene of another crash and then stealing a pickup and shooting a handgun toward an occupied vehicle.
