MONTEVIDEO, Minn. – An 18-year-old woman has been granted a harassment restraining order against Montevideo Police Chief Adam Christopher, alleging that he has sent her hundreds of texts, some of a sexual nature. A hearing requested by Christopher is scheduled for 2 p.m. Nov. 28 in Chippewa County District Court in Montevideo. A harassment restraining order is a civil court action.
WILLMAR, Minn. — Willmar musician Terrance Raymond Shaw, 72, pleaded guilty Thursday, Sept. 28, to a felony charge of criminal sexual conduct for inappropriately touching a nursing home resident with dementia. Shaw, who frequently performed at area care facilities in recent years, faced two felony counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim who was mentally incapacitated or physically helpless, and a similar fifth-degree gross misdemeanor charge in a separate incident.
SPICER -- A 38-year-old Lake Lillian man was arrested early Sunday after shots were fired outside Zorbaz restaurant in Spicer.
WILLMAR -- When he works on the federal 2018 Farm Bill, U.S. Rep. Mike Conaway says he will be thinking about moms on food stamps and how changes in farm policy will affect their food costs. Conaway, R-Texas, chairman of the U.S. House Agriculture Committee, visited Minnesota late last week. One of his stops was at Hultgren Farms in rural Raymond, just west of Willmar Saturday afternoon.
